Privacy Policy

Hidden Factory is a free companion app to the book UNHIDDEN by Colquitt L. Davis III. This policy explains what happens to information when you use the app on the web or on Android.

What the app collects

Your line data is never sent to us. The app has no accounts, no sign-in, no advertising, no analytics and no tracking. The only thing that leaves your device is a Google Play purchase token, if you subscribe (see Subscriptions below). It is checked with Google and not stored.

What stays on your device

If you switch to Live mode and enter your own line data (such as station names, cycle times, crew size, margin, stops and improvement projects), that data is saved only in your device's local browser storage. It never leaves your device unless you copy or share it yourself, for example by copying a project charter. Clearing the app's storage, or uninstalling the app, deletes it.

You can save a backup file of your Live data from the Setup tab. The file is created on your device and goes only where you choose to save or send it (for example, your own Google Drive or email). We never receive it.

Subscriptions

Hidden Factory Pro is sold through Google Play. Google handles payment; we never see your card details. To confirm a subscription is active, the app sends the purchase token Google gives it to our verification server, which asks Google for the subscription's status. No personal information or line data is sent.

Results emails and updates (website)

If you use the calculator on unhiddenfactory.com and ask for your results by email, we keep your name, email address, the line or department name you entered and your calculator results. We use them only to email you your results and occasional news about UNHIDDEN and the Hidden Factory app. We never sell or share them. Every email includes a way to unsubscribe, or you can ask to be removed through the contact form on the website.

Website analytics

unhiddenfactory.com uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits and see which pages are read. It does not use cookies, does not track you across other websites, and does not collect your name or email address. The website also keeps simple anonymous visit counts (page viewed, referring website, country and device type) for 90 days to understand which content is useful.

Fonts

The app loads its typefaces from Google Fonts. When it does, your device connects to Google's servers, which can see your IP address, as with any web request. Google's own privacy policy applies to that connection. After the first load, the fonts are kept on your device so the app can work offline.

Links to other sites

The app links to unhiddenfactory.com and to the book's page on Amazon. Those sites have their own privacy policies.

Children

The app is a business tool for manufacturing professionals and is not directed at children under 13.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
